The silence of the wilderness and its dumbfounding peace give rest to the mind as well as the body. Year after year I just have to get to the backwoods. To hear a snag creaking in the wind and a raven calling. To smell the peat moss and Rhododendron tomentosum. To see the red autumn colours on the ground and colouful play in the polar night sky. To sense the frost on the cheeks and experience the snow in the spring. Luckily enough, I have my own a Finnish house!
